These are troubling times.

If you're a guy like me, you tend to favor a bit of escapism. The real world is stressful and scary, often unfair and hateful, but books, movies, video games, and D&D are all about finding a little bit of comfort in the un-real. As much as the world could be at stake in our fiction, the enemy forces surrounding from all sides and the clock ticking down, as long as it's fake it helps put our problems in perspective.

Unfortunately, while we read and play, others still struggle.

There's nothing any of us can do to make all the problems of the world go away, and there's no sense in feeling guilty about putting your mental health into the comforting embrace of a d20. But where we can, we should try to do something greater for the world while we find little ways to get by.

That is why I'd like to ask for your help in supporting some real life heroes, the folks at the American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU has supported people in even more harrowing scenarios than your half-orc barbarian--from speaking out against Japanese interment camps in World War II to fighting to make sure America's hardworking immigrant population feels safe and welcome in their own home.

In return for your donation, I'll do the only thing I've been halfway decent at since 7th grade: I'll draw your D&D character.

Joe Draws Your D&D Character

That's right, for a small donation, I'll draw your D&D character so you can bring it to your next game night, hold it proudly over your cheese doodles and mountain dew puddle, and say "Who just rolled a critical success to climb that average slope wall? THIS guy."

You give me all the details you want, like their backstory, physical description, tools of the trade, and disposition, and I'll doodle it out for you. Depending on which option you purchase, you can have a basic character sketch, or an intense battle scene play out. It can be your current character, a past character you've never been able to forget, or even a beloved NPC that you wanna show your DM.

And yes, nerds. It can be for any game system, it doesn't have to be D&D. Don't get me started on the merits of GURPS, I'll talk all day.

And a whopping 100% of proceeds go to the ACLU! That's the most amount of percent there can be!

Here are the options:

Option 1: basic sketch

I give you a form, you fill out all the details, and you end up with a cool blue pencil and ink drawing of your character. It can have basic props, but no background or complicated add ons (like cars or horses. Oh god, please don't make me draw horses.) It'll look kind of like the image above.

Price: $10

Option 2: inky 2 the max

Get an illustration of your character (as you describe them in vivid detail) in fully fleshed out ink. It'll have that classic Joe Botsch high-contrast-high-melodrama vibe to really prove to the world what a bad ass your fictional bard is.

Digital Copy: $25

You keep original drawing!

Option 3: the colors, duke

You'll get an illustration of your cool hip character fully rendered in color.

Digital Copy: $40

You keep original ink drawing! Color is digital though.

Option 4: the whole shebang

You get a fully colored and inked drawing of your character in a scene of your choice, with a background, maybe other characters, we'll talk.

Digital Copy: $70

You keep original ink drawing! Color is digital though.

"But I don't have a D&D character!"

Whatever dude, chill out. If you want me to draw you as a comic character or something rando just hit me up, it's not that big a deal.

Wanna talk about specifics? Hit me up. 100% of your hard earned dollars go to the ACLU, so if you were kinda thinking about donating anyway this is a fun way to get a keepsake or whatever.

This is for a limited time only! Taking orders through July, or until I book up.

Interested?

Hit me up the old fashioned way! Send me an email at Botsched@gmail.com and I'll send you the order form.
